Born in Singapore and raised in Shanghai, China, Christy Guo is currently pursuing a BFA in Jewellery and Metalsmithing at NSCAD University. Her work has been presented in exhibitions and programs including the L.A. Pai Gallery National Jewellery Student Competition, the Canadian Student Silversmith Exhibition, Nocturne Halifax, and the Craft Nova Scotia Summer Residency 2026.

 

Drawing from the spatial language of traditional Chinese lattice windows, Guo explores intimacy, belonging, boundaries, and personal space through jewellery, objects, and installation. Rather than reproducing traditional patterns, she translates their structures of framing, openness, and filtered light into contemporary geometric forms. Her practice considers how objects mediate our relationships with the body and surrounding space. Through interactions between structure, light, shadow, and movement, her work invites viewers to reflect on the relationship between the spaces we inhabit, the world around us, and our own sense of being.
